BEHIND THE SCENES

 

Most of the hardy plants you see on sale in our garden centres are grown and cared for by our team at Wheatfields nursery in Churchill.

Our team of skilled and knowledgeable staff, look after the plants you buy from us, they care and nurture them, checking for pests and diseases, ensuring they get just the right amount of nutrients to grow into a plant worthy of a place in your garden.

Built by Cameron's, the world famous balloon manufacturers in Bristol, the Roundtrees hot air balloon is regularly flown during fine weather.  Competitions are frequently held so that visitors to our centres have the opportunity to take off and experience an altogether more peaceful mode of travel.

 

Roundtrees hot air balloon took part in the 2003 Bristol Balloon Fiesta and in its distinctive colours could be easily spotted among its more exotic cousins.

 

Our balloon is often tethered at Congresbury or Tickenham and rises high above the surrounding countryside. Eager children clamour for a ride, rising to all of 30ft, their imaginations soaring even higher.

It’s got nothing to do with gardening

but it is great fun!
